Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy governs order cancellations, returns, and refunds for all transactions conducted on the ForgeNet B2B industrial marketplace.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Order Cancellation Window

Industrial machinery and raw material orders on ForgeNet can only be canceled within 24 hours of placing the order. This short window reflects the B2B nature of our marketplace, where suppliers often begin procurement, milling, or logistics coordination immediately upon order confirmation.

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted through the Order Management section of your Account dashboard.
  • Orders canceled within the 24-hour window receive a full refund to the original payment method with no penalty.
  • After 24 hours, the order is considered committed and standard refund rules for damaged goods apply (see Section 3).
  • Custom-fabricated or made-to-order items may have stricter cancellation terms, which will be disclosed on the individual listing.

2. Returns & Eligibility

Given the bulk and industrial nature of goods sold on ForgeNet, general returns for change-of-mind are not supported. Returns are accepted only in the following scenarios:

  • Verified damaged goods: Items that arrive with visible transit damage, manufacturing defects, or significant deviation from the agreed technical specifications.
  • Wrong item shipped: The delivered product materially differs from the listing description in grade, dimension, or model.
  • Short shipment: Quantities delivered are materially below the invoiced amount.

Buyers must report eligible return claims within 48 hours of delivery by uploading photographic evidence and a detailed description through the Order Management dashboard.

3. Damaged Goods Verification Process

All damaged-goods claims undergo a structured verification process to protect both buyers and suppliers:

  • The buyer submits a claim with clear images, videos (where applicable), and a written description of the defect or damage.
  • ForgeNet reviews the submission within 2 business days and may request additional evidence or an independent third-party inspection.
  • The supplier is given an opportunity to respond and provide counter-evidence (packing photos, mill certificates, pre-shipment inspection reports).
  • If the claim is approved, the refund is processed automatically. If disputed, ForgeNet acts as a mediator and the final decision is binding.

4. Refund Processing Timeline

For verified damaged goods and approved return claims, refunds are processed via the original payment gateway:

  • Refunds are initiated through Razorpay (or the original payment gateway used at checkout).
  • Once approved, the refund will reflect in the buyer's source account within 5 to 7 working days.
  • The timeline depends on the buyer's bank or card issuer and is outside ForgeNet's direct control once the gateway has processed the reversal.
  • Buyers receive an email confirmation as soon as the refund is initiated, including a gateway transaction reference.

5. Partial Refunds & Restocking

In certain cases, a partial refund or restocking arrangement may be more appropriate than a full reversal:

  • Minor defects: A negotiated partial refund may be issued if the goods are still usable with disclosed imperfections.
  • Supplier restocking: For unopened, undamaged bulk orders returned within policy, the supplier may accept a restocking fee of up to 10% to cover logistics and handling.
  • Any partial refund or restocking terms must be mutually agreed upon by both parties and documented in the Order Management system.

6. Non-Refundable Categories

The following categories are generally non-refundable except in cases of verified fraud or misrepresentation:

  • Custom-cut coils, sheets, or structural steel made to buyer-specified dimensions.
  • Used or refurbished machinery sold under an “as-is” disclosure.
  • Perishable or consumable industrial supplies (cutting fluids, welding rods, abrasives) once opened.
  • Labor and contractor services that have already been rendered or where the worker has arrived on-site.
